Ontario Business Achievement Awards (OBAA)
The Ontario Business Achievement Awards is the premier recognition
program shining the spotlight on outstanding businesses in Ontario since 1983.
OBAA Award Categories
ICAO Award for Corporate Governance
Honours a business that demonstrates excellence in raising the standard
for legal compliance and makes a commitment to all areas of corporate
governance.
Desjardins Award for Large Business
Awarded to two large businesses in Ontario (over 250 employees) who
exemplify what it means to be successful in Ontario’s economy – leading
in product innovation, creating a great place to work, cutting edge skills
development and training, being a leader in their community, escalating
sales and export growth, technological advancements and possessing a
contagious entrepreneurial spirit among other things.
Innovation – Technology Award
Spotlights an Ontario business who demonstrates they are adaptable,
innovative and are clever in using technology to further the development
and growth of their products and/or services.
RBC Royal Bank Award for Small Business
Awarded to two small businesses (under 250 employees) who prove that
being small doesn’t make them any less competitive! Nominees will be
successful in Ontario’s economy – leading product innovation, creating a
great place to work, cutting edge skills development and training, being a
leader in their community, escalating sales and export growth,
technological advancements and possessing a contagious entrepreneurial
spirit among other things. |
Ontario Global Traders Awards (OGTA)
The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade partnered with the
Ontario Chamber of Commerce to recognize Ontario’s most innovative
and successful exporters. The OGTA award recognizes Ontario SMEs
(small to medium-sized, private-sector, for-profit enterprises) that meet
the following criteria:
- Annual sales of less than $100 million;
- A maximum of 200 employees;
- In business in Ontario for at least three fiscal years;
- Currently exporting to one or more countries; and,
- Exports sales that are at least 15 per cent of total sales.
OGTA Awards Categories
HSBC Award for Innovation – Exports
Highlights three businesses that are able to change the application of an
existing or new technology to develop a new product/service or makes
improvements to existing products or services that lead to growth in
exports and job creation. Receiving this award shows your business is a
leader in research & development, technology & infrastructure and
product/service development & design.
Export Development Canada Market Expansion Award
Spotlights three SMEs who exemplify the pioneering spirit of Ontario by
successfully establishing themselves in a new export market in addition
to their already existing markets. The successful nominees will be able to
demonstrate a significant increase in export sales and job creation as a
result of entering the new market and/or have overcome difficult
obstacles in order to establish the business within the new market. |
